Tweet-pourri

I get asked this a lot: what the point of Twitter? And quite honestly, for those of us who are using it, I think the answer is – well, we aren’t sure yet. Or maybe, it depends. The way I use Twitter from day to day changes depending on my needs.
Sometimes I’m posting links to articles or posts I’ve written hoping to grow an audience. Sometimes I’m shouting out cool resources or services I’ve found. And sometimes I do research for fiction or non-fiction pieces. Sometimes I just blow off steam.
As for those I follow? Here’s what popped up in my Twitter board today:
- oDesk introduced me to this very cute video on How to Speak Geek. Nice Friday post, especially useful for your grandparents.
- FundMojo pointed me to a CNN article about grants, loans, and housing vouchers for the unemployed facing foreclosure. Cheery.
- davidJcarne linked to this news about some online marketing software from Baidu. Totally useless to me, but cool to find out there’s a website dedicated to U.S. listed Chinese stocks.
And some stuff about cute things peoples’ kids said that sounded like something a 45-year-old man would say. So what is the point of Twitter? You tell me.
